Nana Yaw Edward Ofori Kuragu, the incumbent independent Member of Parliament for the Bosome-Freho constituency in the Ashanti Region, has failed in his bid to represent the constituents in parliament.
The MP, who staged a comeback into the fold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was defeated at the NPP primary in September by Mr. Kyei Frimpong, after which he (Ofori-Kuragu) decided to go solo for the second time.
But, he polled only 4,767 votes, which was not enough to beat Mr. Kyei Frimpong, the NPP candidate, who polled 14,325 votes to win the seat.
The District Chief Executive of the area and the NDC candidate, Mr. Kwame Adarkwa, scored 5,517 votes while the Independent candidate, NDP and PPP candidates trailed miserably with low votes.
