Fiapre(B/A), Aug. 31, GNA - David Akwasi Yeboah, 28, a farmer, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment in hard labour by a Fiapre Circuit court for stealing a gas cylinder and stove at Chiraa.
Yeboah pleaded guilty and was sentenced on his own plea by the court presided over by Mr Benjamin Osei Yaw.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mawunyo Nanegbe told the court that the convict and complainant stayed in the same area at Chiraa and on June 14, the convict together with another person came to the complainant's house for a mosquito insecticide.
He said the convict returned later in the evening to the house under the pretext that he left something there.
The prosecutor said the following morning, the complainant realised that her gas cylinder and stove had been stolen and she confronted the convict but he denied any knowledge about the stolen items.
ASP Nyangbe said complainant reported the matter to the police and during investigations someone informed the complainant that the convict had brought a cylinder and stove to him to buy.
He said the convict was arrested and after investigations he was charged with the offence.
