It's now official; ECOBANK is the biggest in the country.
The bank's total asset according to the half year results released today is now slightly over 3 billion cedis compared to Ghana Commercial Bank's 2.6 billion Ghana cedis.
The growth in the ECOBANK's assets follows its merger with the Trust Bank last year. ECOBANK is also the most profitable bank with 61 million cedis for the half year beating StanChart's 57 million Ghana cedis.
It also has a stated capital of 229 million cedis the biggest in the banking industry for now. However loans that Ecobank fears might go bad went by 85 percent.
Ghana Commercial Bank has always led the pack as the biggest in the country, but it now appears to have lost that position with ECOBANK's results.

The reporters' analyses lack facts. GCBhas led the pack as the biggest in terms of what? Assets or profitability? You need to state that. Afterall none of the Banks you even mentioned was the most profitable. You should do their homework well before publishing such write ups.
