By Emmanuel Modey - Daily Graphic

The Kadjebi Asato Senior High School (KASEC) in the Volta Region recorded a 100 per cent pass in this year’s West Africa Senior Schools Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Out of 349 candidates presented for the examinations, 329 passed in eights subjects excellently, thus qualifying them to enter any tertiary institution in the country.

Speaking in an interview, the Headmaster of KASEC, Mr Thomas Ababio-Fordjour, said for the first time, the Science students passed wonderfully with no failure, adding that “For the fist time, none of my students failed in English language,” he said.

Mr Ababio-Fordjour commended his staff, both teaching and non-teaching for the wonderful achievement, adding that, “all hands were on deck.”

“Hardwork, effective supervision, commitment on the part of the staff which resulted in high disciplinary standards of the students culminated in the results,” he pointed out.

He said as a result of that many parents were rushing in for admission for their children. “But thank God, we have enough facilities so we don’t fear”, he said.

Mr Ababio Fordjour appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to review the categorisation of the school which is now a category B school, since according to him, its facilities and results are unbeatable in the region.

KASEC, which was established in 1959, was upgraded into a model school by the government in 2004 and offers courses in all except the technical courses.
