Breman Asikuma (C/R), Nov 30, GNA – The Rural Enterprises Project Business Advisory Centre has presented tools valued at GH₵20,000.00 to 38 traditional apprentice graduates in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District.
The graduants comprised carpenters, masons, hairdressers, tailors, auto-mechanics, welders blacksmiths, electricians and vulcanizers.
Making the presentation at a ceremony in Breman Asikuma, Mr Samuel Asiedu, the District Coordinator of the Centre, said the presentation formed part of efforts of the centre towards poverty reduction in the country.
He said the tools given to the graduands were also to enable them to established their own businesses to earn a living which would improve their living standards.
The Coordinator therefore advised them to use the tools effectively to grow their businesses and to create job opportunities for unemployed people in their communities.
Mr Daniel Kobina Koomson, District Coordinating Director who deputised for Mrs Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, District Chief Executive for the area urged the graduands to take their businesses seriously to better their lot so that the money used to purchase the tools would not be a waste.
He said there were so many opportunities at the Centre that would help the youth to have some trade to learn to become self supporting.
Mr Koomson therefore advised people to register with the Centre to enable them to become beneficiaries of such opportunities.
