Stanbic Bank Ghana has extended its branch banking hours to meet the needs of its customers all over the country. This takes effect on March 1, 2011. The extension is in direct response to requests from customers, particularly private and business customers who transact business later in the day.

Mr. Benjamin Mensah, Head of Personal Banking at Stanbic Bank, whose outfit manages the branches, said the move is also a further demonstration of the bank's objectives.

'In line with our quest to satisfy our growing customer base and footings, opening our doors for an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour, gives additional time to sell and serve new and existing clients adequately', he said.

Previously, all branches of Stanbic Bank close at 3:30pm. Now the least will be 4pm whilst others, especially Makola, Accra Mall, Tema Fishing Harbour, Takoradi and Suame branches will close at 5pm.

'These locations have some geographic peculiarities which have to be considered. They have clientele or potential clients who typically require banking services in the late mornings and late afternoons.

We therefore needed to make their banking experience less stressful by being available at their most convenient times', Mr. Mensah said.

The extension includes Saturday banking which has been changed from 9am to 2pm, instead of the current 8:30am to Noon.

Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic Bank, Mawuko Afadzinu mentioned that this action is also part of the agenda of the bank to do more for its customers.

'This is the first of a series of significant happenings this year. We as a bank will do more for our customers this year. We have a number of items coming up to improve the lots of our customers and extending the working hours is just a first in the series', he said.
