Techiman (B/A), Nov. 4, GNA - A GHC 26,000 bakery for Evangelical Church of Ghana has been inaugurated at Onyinase in the Techiman Municipality.
The facility, funded by a group of 15 philanthropists in Holland with the church's support, is expected to offer employment to the people.
Mr. Alfred Godfred Ampadu Jnr, the Chief Personnel Officer of Techiman Municipal Assembly, lauded the Church in seeking to provide employment for the youth.
He appealed to religious bodies to seek the economic welfare of their members and pledged the Assembly's support in appreciation of the church's contribution to the development of the municipality.
The leader of the Dutch group, Mr. Theophilus Groen, commended the Church for its vision in initiating the project in the area.
He said the group would continue to partner the Church to provide development in other sectors to enhance the living conditions of the people.
The Rev Peter Kuma-Nseakyure, the head pastor, said one of the aims of the Church was to partner the state in bringing development to the citizenry through the provision of educational facilities, relief services and employment opportunities.
He appealed to Techiman Municipal Assembly to rehabilitate the road leading to the Church and the bakery premises.
Nana Kasim Amponsah, Chief of Takofiano in the municipality, thanked the Church and the philanthropists.
