'I would have damaged this tiny Chinese woman beyond repairs'

An enraged Ghanaian, who was allegedly attacked and spat on the face by a Chinese woman, says he would have made mincemeat of her without anything left in her, but for the mercy he had on the woman.

“Considering my huge body and this tiny Chinese woman if I really wanted to assault her I tell you I will have damaged her beyond repairs,” Dela Atse of City Auctions Company told Joy News.

Dela Atse confiscated a vehicle belonging to the China 99 Construction Company, where the woman works, in default of judgement debts.

But when it was later returned, the manageress (the Chinese woman) rejected it claiming it was not in good condition, but he rebuffed the assertion.

“She came bursting in anger and very furious saying that she has noticed some scratches on the car and she was not going to take the car because that was not the condition that the car was, but I was insisting and telling the counsel that this is the situation in which the car was, before I realized she just spat into my face. I attempted hitting her; I wanted to slap her but I was blocked by my assistant and the [woman's]lawyer.” Dela Atse recounted to Joy News' Elvis Adjetey.

He further stated that not “enough for her”, the Chinese woman kicked him in the abdomen with the leg.

Asked why he failed to report the woman to the police, if indeed the woman first spat on him, Mr Atse replied: “I wasn't too sure whether spitting is an offence punishable by law or is an assault.”

Meanwhile the Chinese woman has lodged a case of assault against Mr Dotse.

Chief Superintendent Oklu Gyamera of the Ministries Police Station in Accra told Joy News they have commenced investigations into the issue, but would not give more detail because the issue is in its “early stages”.

Attempts to reach the manageress of the China 99 Construction Company have been unsuccessful.
