FRED AMANKWAH-SARFO RESPONSE TO MR. KWAME PIANIM’S EFFUSSIONS ON NPP PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS

FRED AMANKWAH-SARFO RESPONSE TO MR. KWAME PIANIMS EFFUSSIONS ON NPP PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS
21.05.2010 LISTEN

Mr. Kwame Pianim last year postulated to the world that as for President Mills he can stick his head that he (Mills) is not corrupt. Impliedly and effectively saying that Presidents Rawlings and Kuffour may be corrupt. He even went on to state that he (Pianim) had seen President Mills returned envelopes – bribes. Possibly Pianim saw President Rawlings and Kuffour receiving bribes.

A man like this must have his intellect examined. How can a supposedly renowned economist make such infantile analysis? Any reasonable person must shudder to think of the repercussion of statements he/she makes. A wise person thinks before he speaks.

I am not surprise that Mr. Pianim's dream of the presidency has eluded him. He is an economic theorist whose appreciation of his utterances lacks any sensible analysis.

As a founding member of the NPP, Mr. Pianim's allegiance to the fortunes of the party has always been in question. After losing out in his attempt to become the party's flag bearer his has been extremely bitter towards the NPP. His actions have only proved some members believe that he is a man of little substance. He does not belief in himself, he lacks the necessary acumen to lead any group of people. He is not consistent. He has a self aggrandized ego to lead this country and as that eludes him he is bent on destroying every member of NPP.

Whilst people like Akufo Addo were using peaceful and democratic means ensure that Flt Lt Rawlings' PNDC return Ghana into democracy, this self egoistic personality sort to violently remove the military despot through a coup de tar. He was not even smart or probably his over blotted ambition got him arrested.

The only reason one can adduce from the effusions of Kwame Pianim is that he does not want Prof Boateng to win the slot. He does not want the NPP to win election 2012. I listened to him when the NDC government had the so call Policy Fair. He was given the platform to shower praises on President Mills. He is here to cast a slur on all the other four NPP contestants. Is he campaigning for the NDC in a subtle manner?

For Kwame Pianim to come out so strong in castigating NPP aspirants gives an indications that his allegiance to NPP is very doubtful indeed and even for Prof Frimpong Boaten is questionable.

Lots of people know that his anger at his disqualification to become the NPP flag bearer in 1999 has not abated. His discontentment made him stay away from the party activities for a long time. He is a very bitter person who has lost all his credibility and is entirely on rampage destroying his image and that of Prof. Frimpong Boaten.

His evil utterances are only disingenuous to himself. His credibility is completely destroyed. I think he needs his head examined.

Public debates and most political analyst within and without the NPP has Nana Akufo Addo being the favorite candidate, followed by Mr. Allan Kyeremanten and then the others including Prof. Frimpong Boateng. Therefore even an uninformed delegate know that the good Prof has not the least chance of winning. To castigate all the others is only an attempt to denigrate the possible candidate so that the NDC can have a field's day come 2012.

I am particularly appalled and highly disappointed in Mr. Pianim. His attitude to undermine the NPP at the least opportunity is becoming legendary. He must come out and tell Ghanaian that he resigned from NPP on 20th January 2000, after losing out to become its flag bearer. Unlike Allan Kyeremanten, Mr. Pianim has not rescinded that decision. He is therefore a wolf in a sheep's clothing. A dangerous man in every political party. A man like this can sell his conscience for pittance.

Mr Pianim said in this changing world, what Ghana needs is a leader and not just a mere flag-bearer, explaining, “We are not looking for a flag bearer, any idiot can hold the flag.”

Interestingly, an idiot, dolt, or dullard is a mentally deficient person, or someone who acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way. Other synonyms of the term include addlehead, blockhead, bonehead, deadhead, dimwit, dodo, dope, dummy, dunderhead, nincompoop, ninny, nitwit, numbskull, stupidhead, thickhead, and twit, among many others

The synonymous terms moron, imbecile, and cretin have all gained specialized meanings in modern times. An idiot is said to be idiotic, and to suffer from idiocy. A dunce is an idiot who is specifically incapable of learning. An idiot differs from a fool (who is unwise) and an ignoramus (who is uneducated), neither of which refer to someone with low intelligence.

Which of these describe any of the aspirants? Probably the description fits Mr. Pianim better with all intends and purpose.

He described the launch as a “defining moment” in the history of the nation, and expressed his delight in Prof. Frimpong-Boateng's decision to contest for the position.

A defining moment could be described as a time in life in which we let our lives be defined in an instant, in other words what is happening at that moment sums up our life. Does Mr. Pianim think ahead of himself? He is always in defining moment, ready to destroy his past and future to achieve “ stupid fame” just for the moment.

He said the candidate is a person who can think outside the box, he is innovative and properly trained to govern the country, adding that he is “most intellectual than most of the people” competing with him.

This is a very self destructive statement, in a more civilized jurisdiction; the most intellectual men are not the President. They stay out of politics and concentrate on inventions and innovations. They do research to advance the course of their country. They leave the running of the state to managers and politicians. It is only in Africa that professors crumple for political leadership for their own ends.

Prof. Mills is a professor of law with abysmal leadership qualities in ruling Ghana. He even flouts the very constitutional provision. A train heart surgeon is not necessarily a great leader and manager.

Mr Pianim said the candidate is not in the league of scholars who only analyze problems to the extent of having “constipation of analysis” without any pragmatic actions to move the country forward.

He states that Ghana have gone all around, we have been around 50 years, looking for the common enemy, looking for how to resolve our problem, we kill one another, fight one another, our problem is to get a leader who listens, a leader who acts with vigour, thank God you are here to witness the finding of such a leader, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng.

That is exactly what Mr. Pianim is doing!! Ghana is attempting to find solutions to our problems and Mr. Pianim is creating animosity, throwing tantrums and exhibiting nothing but total imbecility, he is insulting and attempting to kill people with his outburst.

Hear Mr. Pianim,
“If you are a man of laziness and corruption, incompetence go and look for one of the presidential candidates and vote him,”

Which of the aspirants is corrupt? Which of them has been found guilty of corruption? Go to Korle-Bu and listen to the nurses and doctors and you will know that Prof. Frimpong Boaten is not the saint!!

May be Mr. Pianim knows what we do not know and it will be a mark of statesmanship if he will send his evidence to the appropriate authorities. But being so adept about corruption himself he lacks intellectual capacity to think before he speaks.

The candidate on whose platform the comments were made said Mr Pianim has been taken out of context. What is out of context here? The man has made a categorical statement without saying “sebe” and who is talking about context.

Prof Frimpong Boaten explained that the economist made the comments out of ”frustration” having witnessed a country still plagued with difficult development challenges despite 52 years of independence.

Is his frustration coming out of his inability to decipher his utterances or from his self ego that make him think that he can be the president of Ghana?

I challenge Mr. Pianim to come out and prove that any of the aspirants are lazy and corrupt. He is such a lazy politician who has sold his conscience for pittance. As an ex-convict his demeanor is akin to a mad person who has gone amok.

Did he not tout Nana Addo credential in an advertised program on TV during the second round?

Did he not tell Ghanaians that Nana Addo was the best thing to have happened to Ghana politics? Did he sell his conscience or was he hallucinating?

What has changed since December 2008? Has he been corrupted by the NDC to become a mole in the NPP? Only time will tell.
