Accra, April 13, GNA - The Ghana Judo Association (GJA) is to receive various judo equipments from Japan as part of efforts to promote the sport in Ghana.
A statement from the secretariat of the GJA, copied to GNA Sports said the equipment which are made up 160 judo mats and 250 judo uniforms and belts, are expected in the country by the close of the year.
According to the statement, the Association and the Japanese Embassy has signed the appropriate contracts after the recent 11th Japanese Ambassador's Judo Championship held at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.
It said the equipment will enable the Association to embark on its outreach agenda of spreading the sport to other parts of the country.
