The Daily Graphic commends the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology for organizing a national forum on Ghana's Science, Technology and Innovation Policy in Accra. Even though the paper thinks the move has come rather late, it is of the view that the country can fast track its approach to catch up with the rest of the world. This, the Graphic says can be done, if the necessary interventions to carry along many of the people who feel alien to technology are put in place. The paper says it has come to its notice that fewer people seek admission to universities to read agriculture, because of the impression that the sector is not rewarding. Whilst calling for special incentives to be extended to all those who promote Science and Technology, the Graphic urges government and other stakeholders to refrain from the “lack of funds” excuse, which has become the order of the day.

The Ghanaian Times cautions media practitioners to be circumspect in their reportage on the chieftaincy issue between the Techimanman and the Asanteman traditional authorities. Citing a comment by the Techimanhene that abuse of the airwaves through inflammatory comments and text messaging poses danger to the nation, the Times admits that media reportage can plung the nation into chaos. The paper reminds Ghanaians that what happened at the Techiman loading bay of the Kumasi Kejetia Lorry park and at the Kumasi loading bay of Techiman Lorry Park is enough indication that Ghana does not enjoy total immunity from a civil war. The Times calls on the two traditional councils to be remindful of the fact that in an angry mood anybody can take a decision that could be detrimental to the nation hence the need for Asanteman and Techiman to smoke the peace pipe through dialogue.
