Appreciate the value of self-denial - Muslims urged

Kumasi, Nov. 28, GNA - Muslims have been urged to put more value on self-denial

and sacrifice for the progress of society as they celebrate the Eid-ul-Adha festival.

Sheikh Alkaad Ibrahim, the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission,

said they should also be inspired by the great act of faith by Abraham to surrender to the will

of Allah.
He said this when he led hundreds of members of the Mission to say prayers to mark

the occasion at Abrepo, in Kumasi.
He counselled that they should distance themselves from violence and other socially

reprehensible conduct that are likely to project the Islamic faith in bad light.

At Old-Tafo in Kumasi, the Regional Chief Imam of the Al-Suna Sect, Sheikh

Mohammed Ahmed Kama, admonished Muslims to live in total harmony and peace.

Islam, he said, stands for peace and they are, therefore, enjoined to ensure that their

actions mirror their commitment to peace.
Prayers were said for the progress of the country.
