Chiefs commend DCE for being time conscious
Asuboa (Ash), July 9, GNA - Mr De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive for Asante Akim South, unlike most politicians noted for apologizing for attending programmes late, has been lauded for his commitment to time.
Mr. Fokuo, who paid courtesy calls on some chiefs in the district, took them by surprise as he arrived in their palaces minutes earlier than the scheduled time.
The chiefs, who expected him hours late as had been the normal practice, praised him for his time consciousness and urged him to maintain it.
Among the chiefs he visited were Nana Baffour Kwaku Ofori, Omanhene of Asuboa Traditional Area, Okofrobour Kwakye Dopoa, Omanhene of Asankare Traditional Area, Nana Amaning Asare, Acting President of Bompata Traditional Council and Nana Owusu Ansah Sikatuo, chief of Morso.
Mr. Fokuo appealed to the chiefs to unite and spearhead development in their localities to complement government's efforts at improving the livelihood of Ghanaians.
He said chiefs were partners in national development and promised to work in close collaboration with them to ensure speedy development of the district.
Mr Fukuo appealed to the chiefs to revive communal labour which, he said, was key to development and that the assembly would support communities who initiate their own projects
Dominant among the concerns of the chiefs was the deplorable state of roads in the district and urged him to pay attention to them to promote economic activities in the rural areas.
