Omatek computer scheme takes off

Omatek Computers Ghana has presented products to the beneficiaries of the e-Xpress scheme at a short ceremony in Accra on Tuesday.

The scheme, which is under the Government Assisted PC Programme, is designed to make computers and other related Information and Communication Technology (ICT) products affordable for civil servants and other public workers.

The Education Minister, Alex Tettey-Enyo, who graced the occasion, congratulated Omatek for the initiative and gave the assurance that government would assist to make the scheme a success.

“I congratulate Omatek for this initiative which will go a long way to support government's efforts at bridging divide and making ICT an enabler of growth and accelerated development,” he stated and urged the public to take advantage of the scheme to own computers.

Mr Tettey-Enyo disclosed that plans are far advanced by his ministry to acquire computers and its accessories for Senior High Schools countrywide.
