GIVE OHAKIM A BREATHING SPACE TO WORK FOR IMO STATE - PART 3

GIVE OHAKIM A BREATHING SPACE TO WORK FOR IMO STATE - PART 3
20.04.2009 LISTEN

I read the interview of one Mr Mike Nwachuckwu in the Nigerian Daily Independent Newspaper of April 16 ,2009. Mr Mike Nwachukwu they said is the Director General of the Martin Agbaso Governorship Campaign Organization in Imo State.I read this interview of Mike Nwachuckwu ,a fellow Imo man with so much……What else? Regrets! His lamentations were enumerated In painful details as he recounted the State of Imo,as he claims it has been and still is, he insists! He even went ahead to declare Ikedi Ohakim's government as illegal and non performing. What daring boldness. Maybe Mike Nwachuckwu is now bigger than the Nigerian judiciary that declared Ohakim's government as legitimate.

Mr Mike Nwachuckwu and I are obviously on the opposite side of reasoning about Imo State political spectrum. I do not share his views, but the question that arises are: how many Imo State man share the feelings of Mr Mike Nwachuckwu? How frequently are similar feelings expressed by non politicians from Imo State? And why? I did not enjoy Mr Mike Nwachuckwu's interview one bit! It made me sad and angry, sad that over ambition, greed and personal aggrandizement have led a brother Imo man to express this sort of disenchantment and disconnection from the good things that are happening to Imo State courtesy of Governor Ikedi Ohakim's leadership.Sad that a brother Imo man is toying with the intelligence of Nigerians.

Where do I begin? Tell Nwachuckwu that he is a habitual liar? Of course, he himself knows that he is a 'lie maniac'. How do I blame him? How do I open the eyes of a man who is already dancing blindly the tunes of his paymaster so that he can see the good works of our Governor? How do I strengthen his faith about the present Imo State Government when all he desires to see or hear is that Ohakim has vacated the Government house for his paymaster, Agbaso. Each time I read about the agonizing pains of these disgruntled and torn coat ' chop-i-chop' politicians in Imo State over Ohakim being at the helms of affairs, I understand the pangs of their dashed aspirations and unreasonable expectations that have quickly become dreams and impossibilities.

Somebody should help me tell Mazi Nwachuckwu that politics in Imo State is no more cash and carry that comes in containers like consigned goods. Does he think that Imo politics that is supposed to be about public policies and the good of the greatest number of the majority of the populace is all about personal business between Martin Agbaso and his sponsors( a.k.a Godfathers? )Mafia type agreement written at shrines and at unholy hours? Tufia kwa!!!

Nwachuckwu said that Ohakim's projects are out of touch. This is a glorified clown speaking on behalf of his paymaster-a lot of sound and fury. Let him watch and see how Imo State will be in the remaining years of Ohakim's Government.I believe in Ikedi. This guy ( Nwachuckwu) by all accounts seems to be behaving and acting (for this is what it amounts to) with more zeal than prudence. Nwachuckwu's macabre dance becomes so funny coming on the heels of the just finished appeal court victory of Ohakim.A victory that declared Ohakim's Government as legitimate.Did he not see how Imo people rejoiced over the victory? The God (God of Abraham) that made Ohakim to emerge victorious in the past electoral court dispute will continue to give him all round victory. Chineke Ndi Imo muanya.I think Nwachuckwu has a distorted view about the mood of Ndi Imo. Imo people are obviously happy with the performance of their governor.

Why wont these leprous hands of the Agbaso led group give Ohakim a breathing space in the serious business of governance in Imo State. When will they seize making unguarded utterances? When will they realize that leadership is service opportunity and privilege granted by the people. The Agbaso group are behaving like the morally bankrupt and shameless characters that we only watch in TV movies. They are sounding worse than rift raffs from motor parks. They engage in egregious behaviours with their too many media smear campaign against Ohakim. They believe in do or die politics.

Ohakim's government has faired well. We don't need to go on and on in naming the developmental strides of this young governor. Whoever that is so concerned should come round Imo State to see things for himself. Need I say more? Need any real Imo man say more? Nobody in his right senses will attempt to read any other meaning into Mazi Nwachuckwu interview about Imo State or his new found love for Ndi-Imo. His insidious and howling headline could have fitted nicely the situation in any other part of Nigeria but not in Imo State. So, Mazi Nwachuckwu, whatever is your motive, take it from me, your political torn coat, political zombie will disappear from Imo political space willingly or be forced out at the voting booths come year 2011.For 2011 is another date where those who are causing Imo agonizing pains will meet their political waterloo and inglorious political termination as they will all commit political suicide.
