An Akim Swedru Circuit court has sentenced Kofi Adjabeng, 40, a farmer to 17 years imprisonment on his own plea for defiling a 11-year-old class five pupil at Aduasa near Akim Swedru.
Police Chief Inspector Irene Appiakorang, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Edward Kwame Apenkwah that Adjabeng lived with his wife and children at Aduasa near Akim Swedru.
She said on October 6, this year at about 1200 hours, the victim who lives at Aduasa did not attend school and Adjabeng took advantage of the absence of her parents and his wife entered the victim's house adjacent to theirs.
The prosecution said Adjabeng invited the victim to his house and in an attempt to send her defiled her and after the act gave the victim 1.20 Ghana cedis.
She said a witness in the case had a hint of the ordeal the victim had gone through and reported the matter to the police who arrested Adjabeng and after investigations charged with the offence.
