Mr Frederic Kwadwo Antepim, a 46 year old chemical seller was on Tuesday elected the parliamentary candidate for the Conventions People Party (CPP), at the Sunyani West Constituency for the December polls.

The parliamentary candidate was elected unopposed by the delegates at the party's primaries held at Odumase.

Mr Kwadwo Antepim, in his address, urged the electorate not to consider only the higher educational status of the candidate when voting but to vote on the track record of the person at the constituency and his or her ability to provide quality service to the people to help alleviate poverty.

He pledged to campaign effectively to enable him win the seat at the constituency so that the people in the area would also benefit from the better policies to be implemented by the party.

Mr Antepim noted that people voted on the academic achievements of the candidates during the last elections and later realized they had chosen people who were not competent enough for the work.

He appealed to the people of Odumaseman not to repeat such mistakes but should consider his track record and achievements as a citizen and vote massively for him despite his low academic background.

He thanked the delegates for the kind of trust and confidence reposed in him and called for the support of the constituents during the campaigns to enable him win the seat.

Mr Antepim said the health of his people would be his major priority when given the nod and that healthy people under his constituency would increase productivity with a corresponding increase in revenue.

Ohene Ameyaw Domfe, Brong-Ahafo Regional Administrator of the party said the party is now formidable at all the constituency levels to ensure victory in the up-coming December elections.

He noted that the kind of enthusiasm and interest shown by people especially the youth in the CPP indicated the party's chances of winning the elections and urged all party faithful not to allow themselves to be deceived by any political party.

He called for effective collaboration amongst the executives at the constituency towards the achievement of the party's set targets.

Mr Pawiah Ofori, Sunyani West District Electoral Commissioner, who supervised the primary disclosed that the filling of nominations by the various parliamentary candidates was opened.

He appealed to all the parliamentary candidates to go for their forms as soon as possible to enable the commission to receive all information needed.
