“Ghanaians have lost hope in NPP”

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Dadekotopon, Nii Amassah Namoale, has observed that the mood and utterances of his constituents, in particular and Ghanaians in general, point to the fact that the electorate has lost faith in the New Patriotic Party, (NPP).

He therefore, resolved to retain the seat with a wider margin in the December elections.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic, the MP expressed the confidence that his margin of victory would widen because of his good leadership qualities, coupled with the development projects he had initiated in the constituency which had endeared him to his constituents.

Nii Namoale explained that the NPP won the constituency seat in 2000 owing to the popular desire for change at that time, saying that having lost the seat to the NDC in the 2004 elections by about 7,000 votes meant the NPP could not get it back.

Cataloguing some of his achievements which he believed could help him to retain the seat, the MP pointed out that he had contributed meaningfully to the rehabilitation of the classroom block of the La Presbyterian Senior High School, as well as a GH¢2,000 assistance for the construction of the new La Anglican Senior High School.

He added that he lobbied for the installation of a transformer which resulted in the installation of street lights at the La Market and other places in the constituency, saying that he contributed GH¢5,000 towards the construction of the La General Hospital.

Nii Namoale, who is an agronomist by profession, said in an effort to ensure vigilance at the polls, the NDC had so far trained 400 polling agents for the constituency, out of which 226 were expected to be deployed to man the various polling stations.

He called on the polling agents of the party to remain vigilant before, during and after the polls.
