GCB Bank PLC has donated GH¢200,000 to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to support educational development initiatives across the country.
The donation was presented on Thursday, October 8, 2026, by the bank’s Chief of Staff, Abraham Ferguson Yahaya. The Deputy Administrator of GETFund, Mr Alhassan Sualihu Dandaawa, received the donation on behalf of the Administrator, Mr Paul Adjei, as part of activities marking Customer Service Week.
Mr Yahaya reaffirmed GCB Bank’s commitment to supporting education and national development, stressing the importance of investing in education to build human capital and promote Ghana’s long-term socio-economic progress.
Receiving the donation, Mr Dandaawa expressed appreciation to the bank for its contribution to the country’s education sector.
He noted that the donation would support the Fund’s ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure and expand opportunities for students nationwide.
Mr Dandaawa also highlighted the importance of partnerships with corporate institutions in complementing public investment in education and improving teaching and learning conditions.
The contribution underscores the role of private-sector organisations in supporting educational development through corporate social responsibility initiatives and collaboration with public institutions.
GETFund supports the provision and improvement of educational infrastructure and related facilities across Ghana, with partnerships such as this providing additional resources to advance its mandate.
