World Vision Ghana, through its Agotime-Ziope Area Development Programme, has distributed educational and information technology materials to schools and institutions in the district to enhance teaching and learning.

The donation included 125 plastic chairs, 41 plastic tables, 20 desktop computers, 2 laptops, projectors, and play equipment for kids' clubs. The items were distributed to six basic schools, the Ghana Education Service, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and four Kids Clubs.

Beneficiary schools include Akwettey D/A Basic School, Agorhokpo R/C Basic School, Dohia D/A Basic School, Wudzedeke D/A Basic School, Kporta Salvation Army Basic School, and Takuve D/A Basic School. Akwettey D/A received 25 chairs, 9 tables, 5 desktop computers and a set of play equipment, while Agorhokpo R/C received 5 desktop computers and Dohia and Wudzedeke each received 25 chairs, 8 tables and 5 desktops.

Other beneficiaries are the Ghana Education Service, which received a laptop, NADMO, which received a projector, and the Agorhokpo, Agorkpo, Dzramave and Asafokope Kids Clubs which received play equipment to support child development and recreational activities.

Commending the gesture, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, praised World Vision for its continued support to the district, particularly in education and ICT.

"I commend your efforts in the area of education, ICT, which the district and the children need more so that they can also connect to other parts of the world. So on behalf of the Regional Coordinating Council, we say thank you very much for this noble initiative that you are doing for the area of education and water and sanitation and other sectors. We believe this partnership will grow from strength to strength," Hon. Gunu said.

Speaking on behalf of World Vision Ghana, the Director of Partnership, Mr. Joseph Appiah, said donors are increasingly demanding accountability and measurable impact on children, families and communities.

"We are given from donors and I work closely with donors. Donors these days increasingly look for accountability. So what would change the lives of children, their families and communities is what we all track. Whether we get more resources to do a lot of things depends on what we see," Mr. Appiah stated.

He noted that the MP for Agotime-Ziope has already lobbied for additional resources for the district, but attracting more support will depend on how well the current items are used and monitored.

"We will humbly recommend that we track the users of these equipment and facilities. There are instances where we have had experiences where laptops go to some colleagues within the decentralized architecture and they don't make it available for use. They keep it as their own, put it under lock and key and it becomes quite challenging. We hope that this will not be an experience that we see in this district," he cautioned.

Mr. Appiah thanked the Regional Coordinating Council and stakeholders for their support, expressing hope for a deeper collaboration to improve the well-being of children in Agotime-Ziope.
