The Upper East Regional Women Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fawzia Yakubu Abagnamah, has called on aspirants contesting the party’s constituency-level Women Organizer elections to uphold peace, tolerance and mutual respect ahead of Saturday’s polls.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 23, 2026, Madam Abagnamah urged all contestants to place the collective interest of the party above personal ambitions and preserve unity regardless of the outcome of the elections.
She extended her best wishes to all Women Organizer aspirants contesting across the Upper East Region’s 15 constituencies, commending them for their commitment and efforts throughout the campaign period.
According to her, the participation of the aspirants reflects their dedication to strengthening the NDC’s women’s wing and advancing the interests of women within the party.
She expressed hope that delegates would elect capable, dedicated and hardworking women who would provide effective leadership at the constituency level and contribute to the party’s growth and electoral fortunes.
Madam Abagnamah further urged aspirants and delegates to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly to ensure a smooth, transparent and successful electoral process.
She encouraged delegates to turn out in their numbers and arrive early at their respective voting centres to facilitate an orderly exercise.
The Regional Women Organizer reiterated that the elections should not become a source of division among party members, stressing that all contestants share a common responsibility to strengthen the NDC and promote a united women’s wing across the region.
She called on the aspirants to demonstrate sportsmanship, respect the electoral process and work together after the polls to advance the party’s collective objectives.
