Whizzy Innovation Hub has officially transitioned to Impact Hub Kumasi, joining a global network of coworking spaces, business incubators, accelerators and innovation laboratories committed to promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and social impact.
The transition was officially launched on Thursday in Kumasi during a breakfast meeting that brought together entrepreneurs, friends of the hub and ecosystem partners to celebrate the milestone, strengthen relationships and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
The event also provided a platform for discussions on networking, innovation and digital transformation, particularly the growing role of technology in helping businesses improve their operations, expand their reach and remain competitive in an increasingly digital economy.
Other hubs that supported the event include MEST Africa, Impact Hub Global, Impact Hub Accra and AFOS.
A Strategic Move Towards Global Impact
Established in 2019, Whizzy Innovation Hub has been working to support entrepreneurship and innovation.
Its transition to Impact Hub Kumasi represents a strategic step towards expanding its reach and connecting local entrepreneurs to a broader international network.
Addressing participants at the event, Team Lead of Impact Hub Kumasi, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, described the transition as an important step towards achieving the hub's long-term vision of building an institution capable of creating lasting impact beyond its current leadership.
He explained that the decision to join the global network was driven by the desire to expand the organisation's influence, strengthen its operations and create greater opportunities to support entrepreneurs.
According to him, the team has acquired the licence to operate Impact Hub in Kumasi, paving the way for the organisation to operate under the global brand.
Mr. Aboagye expressed appreciation to Impact Hub Accra for the support and guidance it provided throughout the transition process, describing the Accra-based hub as an inspiration to the team.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration and learning from established institutions in building a sustainable organisation capable of delivering meaningful results.
Ghana Hubs Network Congratulates Impact Hub Kumasi
Joining the launch virtually, Chairman of the Ghana Hubs Network, Mr. Yaw Adu Gyamfi, congratulated the team on successfully completing the transition.
He described the development as a significant achievement, indicating that it reflected the hub's progress in improving its standards and building the resilience needed to expand its operations.
Mr. Adu Gyamfi commended the organisation for its consistency in delivering on its mandate, describing it as one of the few hubs in Ghana that had demonstrated sustained commitment and efficiency in its work.
However, he cautioned that the transition also came with greater responsibilities, urging the team to remain focused and prepare for the work ahead.
He reaffirmed the Ghana Hubs Network's commitment to supporting Impact Hub Kumasi as it begins this new chapter, assuring the team that the network would continue to stand with it throughout the journey.
Impact Hub Kumasi Introduces AI Tool to Support Businesses
Beyond celebrating the transition, the meeting also highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence in business development, with organisers introducing participants to a new AI-powered tool known as Local Odita.
The tool was presented as a digital business auditing solution designed to help businesses assess their online presence and identify areas requiring improvement.
According to the organisers, Local Odita helps business operators understand what they need to do to improve their online visibility, strengthen their digital performance and attract more customers searching for their products and services on Google.
The tool is also expected to help businesses identify optimisation opportunities that could improve their visibility in online searches and make it easier for potential customers to discover and engage with them.
Its introduction reflects the increasing importance of digital tools in helping small and medium-sized enterprises compete in a marketplace where online visibility and accessibility are becoming essential to business growth.
For entrepreneurs and business owners, such technologies can provide useful insights into their digital performance and help them make more informed decisions about their online marketing strategies.
The breakfast meeting served not only as a celebration of the transition but also as a platform for building relationships and exploring how innovation, collaboration and digital transformation can contribute to sustainable business development.
