THU, 22 OCT 2026

The leadership of the Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM) has issued an open invitation to investors, development partners, entrepreneurs, businesses and tourism developers, declaring that Paga is ready for strategic partnerships and investment.

PAYOM leaders highlighted the community’s vast potential across tourism, hospitality, agriculture, culture, creative arts, trade and other sectors. They described Paga as a peaceful, inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can belong, regardless of tribe, religion, political affiliation or social status.

Community Engagement

The renewed call was made on 20 October 2026 during a community engagement session jointly organised by PAYOM and the Countrystyle Community Tourism Network (CCTN), a Jamaica‑based tourism organisation.

PAYOM Vice President Mr. Frederick Wugah, speaking on behalf of the Movement’s President, Mr. Wenawome Duriyem Aborah, welcomed participants and special guests.

“We welcome everyone, particularly Mr. Roy Page, Chairman of Countrystyle Community Tourism Network, and Mr. Jason Stone, to our beautiful land,” he said.

He also acknowledged Dr. Tengol K. Kplemani, Africa Ambassador for CCTN, for his dedication and efforts in bringing the Royal Community Tourism Programme to Paga.

A Pilot with Wider Benefits

Mr. Wugah noted that the programme offers a major opportunity to unlock Paga’s tourism and business potential. He said the initiative will transform cultural and tourism assets into sustainable ventures that create jobs, empower youth and women, support local businesses, preserve heritage and improve livelihoods.

“Paga has been selected to pilot an initiative dubbed the Royal Community Tourism Programme, which has the potential to benefit communities beyond our borders,” he emphasised.

Call for Unity

He urged residents to prioritise collective progress over personal interests.

“We must work together in unity and put the development of our community above our personal interests. We must make Paga shine and show what community tourism can achieve when traditional leaders, young people, women, businesses, government and development partners work together.”

Appeal to the Community

PAYOM appealed to all community members to support the initiative to ensure its success and long‑term impact.
