Akuapem North Member of Parliament Sammi Awuku says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has identified about 35 alleged scandals involving the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), which it intends to expose in the lead-up to the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on UTV, Mr. Awuku said the number could increase as further controversies emerge, adding that the opposition party was prepared to release names and voice recordings to support its allegations.
“NPP has about 35 of these scandals of the NDC, and these would be rolled out from now till the 2028 elections,” he said.
Among the issues he cited were allegations surrounding visa arrangements for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He claimed some NDC regional executives acted as intermediaries through whom government appointees collected money from unsuspecting applicants.
“With the World Cup, I can confidently tell you today that some regional executives of the NDC were the conduits the appointees used to collect money from unsuspecting victims,” he alleged.
Mr. Awuku also challenged Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to make public the invoices detailing the cost of evacuating Ghanaians from South Africa.
He argued that Mr. Ablakwa, while in opposition, had demanded detailed information on presidential travel expenses and should demonstrate the same level of transparency in his current ministerial role.
“My brother Ablakwa did a good job in opposition. Presidential travel, he was still able to give us quotations of how much, the cost, per hour of President Akufo-Addo’s flight,” Mr. Awuku said.
He added that the minister should have no difficulty providing the relevant documents now that he had access to them.
“So it shouldn’t be difficult. Now that you are the one seized with the documents, tell us, give us invoices of the flight,” he added.

Let the NPP drop all without leaving even one behind, and still they taste a double portion of opposition. The government is doing what the people want; therefore, your claim wouldn't change anything.
