NDC Regional Secretary aspirant Jonathan Abdallah Salifu has pledged to transform the party’s Upper East Regional Secretariat if elected, promising improved administration and stronger organisational structures.
Mr Salifu made the commitment during an interview on Bolgatanga-based Dreamz FM on Monday, October 19, 2026, where he reflected on his experience as the party’s Regional Communication Officer and outlined his vision for the secretariat.
Recounting his time in charge of the party’s regional communication front, the aspirant said he did not inherit a communication office that was in good standing but had since worked to establish a strong foundation for the party’s communication activities in the region.
He cited his experience in building the communication office as evidence of his ability to improve the operations of the Regional Secretariat if given the opportunity to serve as Regional Secretary.
Mr Salifu’s pledge comes as the NDC prepares for its regional executive elections, scheduled for November 16, 2026, with the contest expected to determine the leadership responsible for the party’s administration and mobilisation in the Upper East Region.
The aspirant, who has served the party at branch, constituency and regional levels, brings more than two decades of political experience to the race. His journey within the NDC began in 2006 as a branch executive at Tindonsoe, before he went on to serve as Deputy Constituency Youth Organiser and Constituency Secretary for Bolgatanga Central.
He later became the Upper East Regional Communication Officer, a position that has given him experience in political communication, party mobilisation and engagement with the party’s grassroots.
Mr Salifu has also outlined plans to strengthen constituency party offices across the region, including improving their infrastructure and providing essential office equipment to support administrative work, meetings and mobilisation.
He is seeking the mandate of delegates to become the next NDC Upper East Regional Secretary and has been balloted at Number 1 on the ballot paper.
