BGS Africa 2026 summit rescheduled to November 12 in Accra

The Boardroom Governance Summit (BGS) Africa 2026 has been rescheduled from October 7 to Thursday, November 12, 2026, with the event set to take place at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.

The summit will be held under the theme “Board Committees: From Oversight to Impact.”

According to the organisers, the decision to change the date followed consultations with principal partners, speakers and guests of honour.

They said interest in the summit had exceeded expectations, with a significant portion of the participation now coming from outside Ghana.

The additional weeks, they explained, would allow chairpersons, directors and governance leaders from across Africa more time to make travel arrangements and secure the necessary visas to attend the summit in Ghana.

The new date will also coincide with the completion of the Labadi Beach Hotel’s beachfront restoration project, which forms part of efforts to improve the environment shared by the hotel and its neighbouring community.

The hotel is working with community leaders to resolve outstanding matters amicably, according to the organisers, who said delegates would therefore arrive to a refreshed setting for the continental governance gathering.

BGS Africa Founder and Convenor, Ing. Prof. Douglas K. Boateng, said the growing international interest in the summit had transformed it from a Ghanaian event into a continental gathering.

“What began as a Ghanaian gathering now belongs to the whole continent,” said Ing. Prof. Douglas K. Boateng, Founder and Convenor of BGS Africa. “The rest of Africa is coming to Ghana, and we want to receive our fellow Africans properly. A short delay is a modest price for a summit that is better prepared, more inclusive and truly continental in reach.”

The organisers stressed that the summit had not been cancelled and would proceed on November 12.

They further confirmed that all registrations and tickets already issued would remain valid, with delegate benefits unchanged. These include access to the summit, breakfast and lunch, a complimentary copy of Practical Perspectives on the Committees of the Board, and CPD recognition for members of partner institutions.

Sponsorship and partnership benefits will also remain in place.

Delegates who are unable to attend on the new date have been assured that they are entitled to a refund.
