New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has pledged his support for the party’s newly elected national executives as they begin preparations for the 2028 presidential election.
In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, October 4, 2026, Dr Bawumia said the election of the new executives in Kumasi marked the completion of the party’s reorganisation ahead of the 2028 polls.
He described the election as having been conducted in an atmosphere of peace and transparency, saying the outcome reflected the wishes of NPP delegates.
Dr Bawumia congratulated all the newly elected executives and expressed the expectation that the John Boadu-led leadership would immediately begin the process of positioning the party for the 2028 election.
“The Leader and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, congratulates all newly elected National Executives following the successful elections held in Kumasi yesterday.”
According to the statement, Dr Bawumia has committed to providing the necessary support to the new leadership to ensure that the party operates an inclusive system capable of harnessing the talents of its members.
The statement stressed that the NPP would need to draw on the abilities of its members as it seeks victory in the 2028 election.
“In victory or in defeat, no talent should be left out in the 2028 campaign,” the statement said.
The new national executives, led by National Chairman John Boadu, are therefore expected to begin the next phase of the party’s organisational activities with the 2028 election as a key priority.
Dr Bawumia’s pledge of support comes after the NPP concluded its national executive elections in Kumasi, completing the selection of a new team to oversee the party’s affairs as it prepares for the next presidential and parliamentary elections.
