
The Eastern Regional Police Command says calm has been restored at Larteh Ahenase following disturbances that occurred during the Ahenase Odwira Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The Command has since increased its presence in the community, deploying additional personnel to reinforce security and prevent any further incidents.
In a statement issued on Sunday, October 4, the Police said, “The Eastern Regional Police Command has restored calm at Larteh, following some disturbances during the Ahenese Odwira Festival celebration on Saturday, October 3, 2026.”
According to the Command, the enhanced security measures are aimed at protecting residents and festival participants while maintaining law and order in the area.
It said security officials were also engaging key stakeholders in efforts to sustain peace in Larteh and prevent tensions from escalating.
“The Command continues to engage all stakeholders to ensure peace in Larteh, and will deal firmly with any individuals who breach the peace in the region,” the statement said.
The Police, however, did not disclose what triggered the disturbances or whether any persons had been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Command has consequently urged residents and all stakeholders to cooperate with the security agencies as efforts continue to maintain peace and stability in Larteh.
