GNFS rescues driver trapped in overturned tipper truck at Bolgatanga

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued a 35-year-old driver who was trapped inside an overturned tipper truck at Bolgatanga East in the Upper East Region.

The accident involved a loaded tipper truck with registration number GG 4478-21 near the Customs Barrier in the Bolgatanga East District.

The driver, identified as Sulemana Nangne, became trapped inside the vehicle after it overturned.

According to a report shared via social media, a six-member team from the Bolgatanga Municipal Fire Station, led by STNO1 Bright Atimbiok, was dispatched to the scene at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30.

The team arrived at 5:38 p.m. and began extrication operations to free the trapped driver.

After nearly two hours of rescue efforts, the crew successfully removed Mr Nangne from the vehicle at 7:21 p.m.

The GNFS handed him over to the National Ambulance Service for further medical attention.

He was subsequently transported to the Upper East Regional Hospital for treatment.
