Ahafo Ano South West DCE Abubakar Sedik dies after brief illness

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West in the Ashanti Region, Abubakar Sedik, has died after a brief illness.

The announcement was made by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, in a social media post on Monday, September 21.

The minister described the death as sudden and said it had left the district, the Ashanti Region and the government mourning.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Hon. Abubakar Sadik, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West District, after a brief illness,” Dr Amoakohene said.

He extended condolences to the late DCE’s family, loved ones, colleagues and constituents, as well as the people of the Ashanti Region.

The minister said Mr Sedik’s death was “a great loss” to his family, the people of Ahafo Ano South West, colleagues and the government.

According to a recent report by ChannelOne News said Mr Sedik died on Sunday, September 20, after returning to Mankranso from a stakeholder engagement meeting in Kumasi.

The report said he complained of body pains and was subsequently taken to hospital, where he died.
