KATH to construct ultra-modern hostel for patients' relatives — CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, has hinted that the hospital is constructing an ultra-modern hostel facility for relatives of patients who spend days at the facility.

According to him, the hospital has also called on the Church of Pentecost to collaborate and construct another hostel for relatives.

"The Hospital on its own is already constructingva hostel facility, we have also appealed to the church of Pentecost to buildbine here ans so these two hostel projects once completed will help accommodate relatives of patients"

He noted that once these two projects come to fruition, individuals who bring their relatives to the facility will not be left outside at the mercy of cold weather.

He said this in an interview with OTEC News reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng during the inter-directorate fun games for staff on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

The hostel project forms part of efforts by the hospital management to improve patient care and the welfare of relatives who accompany patients to the hospital.

The initiative has been welcomed by many who believe it will ease the burden on families during their stay at the hospital.
