More christians, yet corruption is rising in Ghana– Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso

Former President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso, has expressed concern over the growing level of corruption and moral compromise in society, despite the increasing number of Christians.

He said Christians must demonstrate faithfulness to God in their workplaces, marriages and leadership positions, stressing that religious practices without godly conduct are meaningless.

Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso, a former General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, made the remarks during a Sunday service at the Calvary Temple Assemblies of God branch at Bantama in the Ashanti Region on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

According to him, Christians must remain committed to God and uphold biblical principles, particularly in an era characterised by moral decline, corruption and various societal challenges.

“There are more Christians, but there is more corruption. We Christians must be able to detect this abhorrent cancer and stand firmly for God until death,” he said.

He cautioned Christians against compromising their faith in the face of temptation and tribulations, urging them to remain steadfast in their commitment to God.

Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso noted that the world was increasingly embracing secularism, while corruption, compromise and debates surrounding LGBTQ+ issues continued to present challenges to Christian values.

He emphasised that attending church services regularly, paying tithes and observing other spiritual activities must be accompanied by integrity and faithfulness in everyday life.

“Attending church daily, paying tithes regularly and observing all spiritual activities are meaningless if we are not faithful in our workplaces, marriages and leadership positions, and if our conduct does not conform to the Word of God,” he stated.

The former GPCC president further encouraged Christians to remain committed to their faith during difficult times, cautioning them against moving from one church to another whenever they encountered challenges.

He urged believers to endure trials and tribulations with patience and continue trusting in God rather than allowing difficulties to weaken their spiritual commitment.
