Cape Coast Assembly donates chairs, dustbins to Oguaa Traditional Council

The Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA), led by the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. George Justice Arthur, has donated 50 chairs and two dustbins to the Oguaa Traditional Area to support activities at the Oguaa Traditional Council Palace.

The items were presented by the MCE during a visit to the Palace as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Assembly and the Traditional Council and improve facilities at the Palace.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. George Justice Arthur said his decision to provide the chairs followed observations he made during his visits to the Palace.

He explained that the existing seating capacity was inadequate to accommodate the large number of visitors who attend traditional and official functions at the Palace.

According to him, most of the available seats were plastic chairs which, in his view, did not sufficiently reflect the status and dignity of the Palace of the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Dr. Kwesi Atta.

He said the additional chairs would provide more appropriate seating arrangements and ensure that visitors are comfortably accommodated during functions at the Palace.

The MCE also highlighted the need for adequate waste disposal facilities, explaining that visitors often consume water and other refreshments while at the Palace.

He said the two dustbins were therefore provided to support proper waste management and help maintain a clean and orderly environment at the Palace.

Hon. George Justice Arthur urged visitors to make proper use of the facilities and contribute to keeping the Palace and its surroundings clean.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Dr. Kwesi Atta expressed appreciation to the MCE and the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly for the donation.

He said the gesture reflected the importance of continued cooperation between the Metropolitan Assembly and the Oguaa Traditional Council in promoting the development, preservation and dignity of the traditional area.
