Aspiring National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has pledged to lead a formidable communications team to help return the party to power in the 2028 general elections.
He said his proposed team would develop a sophisticated communications architecture capable of shaping the political narrative and strengthening the NPP’s position as an opposition party.
Miracles Aboagye made the pledge when he paid a courtesy call on former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, August 26, ahead of filing his nomination for the position.
“I am going to lead a team of people to build a very sophisticated communications architecture that will get our party back to power," he said.
The aspiring NPP spokesperson said his experience in both the party and government had equipped him with lessons he intended to apply to the NPP’s communication strategy.
According to him, the team would focus on “commanding the narrative” and ensuring that the party consistently sets the tone of political discussions.
The former President, on his part, described communications as one of the most challenging areas of the NPP’s efforts to return to power.
“Whether we prevail or not will depend on the work that you do. So I’m happy that somebody of your quality and commitment has decided to take up this challenge," said the former President.
Mr Akufo-Addo said the NPP must win the 2028 election and urged all factions to unite behind the party’s eventual presidential candidate after its internal processes were completed.
He expressed confidence in Mr Aboagye’s prospects ahead of the NPP’s National Delegates Conference and wished him success in the contest.
