
A suspected robber has been arrested at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region after allegedly attempting to steal a taxi and crashing the vehicle into a crowd while fleeing.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday when the suspect allegedly seized the taxi from its driver within the Ejisu area and sped away.
However, his attempt to escape ended abruptly when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a group of people, reportedly running over several individuals.
Residents who gathered at the scene managed to apprehend the suspect shortly after the crash.
Personnel from the nearby Ejisu Police Station subsequently arrived and took the suspect into custody.
An eyewitness reportedly captured portions of the incident on video, with the footage later circulating on social media.
The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the condition of those reportedly hit by the vehicle, are expected to form part of the police investigation.
