TOR MD Edmond Kombat honoured for public service at 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting

The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Edmond Kombat, has been honoured for his contribution to public service and service to the Church.

Mr Kombat received the recognition during the opening of the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting of Assemblies of God Ghana at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa-Fetteh.

The event brought together leaders and members of Assemblies of God Ghana and was attended by President John Dramani Mahama, as well as other government and Church leaders.

In a post on Facebook, Mr Kombat expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a reminder that leadership is fundamentally about service, integrity, sacrifice and impact.

“I am humbled to have been recognised for my contribution to public service and service to the Church,” he said.

According to the TOR Managing Director, public office holders must use their positions to make a meaningful contribution to the country while upholding strong moral and ethical values.

He said Christians serving in public institutions have a responsibility to reflect their faith through their conduct and commitment to the public good.

“My spiritual father, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, delivered a powerful charge to us, that we are called to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth,” Mr Kombat wrote.

He further urged Christians in public service to demonstrate their faith through “character, excellence, humility and commitment to the public good.”

Mr Kombat also stressed the temporary nature of leadership positions, noting that the lasting measure of public service should be the positive impact made during one's tenure.

“Our positions are temporary, but the impact of our service can endure,” he said.

He concluded his message by expressing gratitude to God for the honour and the opportunity to serve Ghana.

“To God be all the glory,” Mr Kombat added.
