The Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga Constituency, Hon. Nikyema Billa Alamzy, has presented GH¢9,000 in scholarship support to Mr. Tangom Maxwell, a medical student at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The support was presented to the student’s mother on behalf of Mr. Tangom, who hails from Gwenia Kworania in Chiana, located in the West Zone of the constituency.
The GH¢9,000 package covers the beneficiary’s tuition fees, hostel accommodation and a stipend to support his feeding and other basic needs during his studies.
Mr. Tangom Maxwell is one of four tertiary students selected as beneficiaries of Hon. Alamzy’s full scholarship scheme, which seeks to support students facing financial difficulties in pursuing higher education.
The latest presentation marks the second time the medical student has received support under the scholarship initiative, following the first presentation made to him last year.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Nikyema Billa Alamzy reaffirmed his commitment to the four beneficiaries and assured them of his continued support throughout their academic journey.
He emphasized his determination to ensure that the beneficiaries are given the necessary assistance to successfully complete their studies and contribute meaningfully to society after graduation.
The MP’s intervention forms part of his broader efforts to support education and provide opportunities for young people within the Chiana-Paga Constituency.
Receiving the scholarship package on behalf of her son, Mr. Tangom Maxwell’s mother expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Alamzy for the gesture and his continued investment in her son’s education.
She praised the MP for coming to the aid of families who struggle to meet the financial demands of tertiary education and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him.
She further prayed for strength and resources for the MP to enable him to continue supporting needy students and other vulnerable members of the constituency.
