Parts of the Greater Accra, Ashanti and Central regions will experience temporary power outages on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced.
The outages are scheduled to allow the company to undertake planned maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.
According to ECG, the affected areas will experience power interruptions between 9:00am and 5:00pm, depending on the location.
In the Ashanti Region, the outage will affect Domeabra, Appiadu Kokoben, Apemso and surrounding areas from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
ECG said the maintenance exercise is necessary to improve the reliability of electricity supply in the affected areas.
In the Central Region, areas including Nduaso, Breku, Asempaneye, Kushea and Breman will experience an outage from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The exercise will also affect parts of the Accra West Region, including Odorkor, Awoshie, Darkuman, Kwashieman, Mallam, McCarthy Hill and Sakaman.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to take note of the scheduled interruption and make the necessary arrangements.
ECG apologised for the inconvenience the planned maintenance works may cause to customers.
