Traditional leaders of Awutu Odupong have announced the sudden death of the overlord of the Odupong Traditional Area, Nai Awoshie Tetteh.
The announcement follows reports that the body of the late traditional ruler was allegedly concealed after his death, resulting in the arrest of two individuals in connection with the incident.
The traditional authorities identified the suspects as Daniel Awer and Chris Banahene, who were reportedly arrested by the police over the alleged concealment of the chief’s remains.
According to the traditional authorities, the remains were subsequently located following the intervention of the Homicide Unit of the Ghana Police Service.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Nai Awoshie Tetteh, as well as the events leading to the alleged concealment of his remains, remain unclear.
The police are expected to investigate the circumstances of the chief’s death, the alleged concealment of his remains and the involvement of the two suspects.
The development has generated considerable attention in Awutu Odupong, given Nai Awoshie Tetteh’s position as the traditional overlord of the Odupong Traditional Area.
