Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued a driver who was trapped inside a trailer following an accident along the Kintampo-Tamale Highway.
According to the GNFS in a Facebook post on Sunday, August 16, the accident occurred at Water Falls Junction on Friday, August 14, 2026.
The Service said it received a distress call at 4:36 p.m., prompting the Municipal Commander, DOII Twum Prempeh Dominic, to dispatch officers to the scene.
The eight-member firefighting team, led by ASTNO Agyekum Emmanuel, arrived at the scene at 4:46 p.m.

The crew found a Shacman trailer with registration number GC 3825-19, loaded with packs of bottled drinks and travelling from Kumasi to Buipe, involved in the accident.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, prompting firefighters to immediately begin rescue operations.
The GNFS said the driver was successfully extricated and transported to a hospital for medical treatment, while the scene was subsequently made safe for traffic.
