WN/R: 21 travellers escape death in Lineso Barrier crash

Twenty-one travellers, including three children, narrowly escaped death after a Sprinter bus and a private car collided at the Lineso Barrier in the Western North Region.

The accident occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026, involving a Sprinter with registration number AS-4821-26 and a private Hyundai car with registration number DV-8134-A.

The Sprinter was reportedly travelling from Bibiani to Kumasi with 21 passengers on board when the collision occurred.

According to passengers who were in the Sprinter, the private car suddenly crossed their path while turning from a nearby fitting shop.

The unexpected manoeuvre left the Sprinter with little room to avoid the vehicle, resulting in the collision.

The passengers said the incident came as a shock, particularly because children were among those travelling in the Sprinter.

The crash caused concern at the scene, with the 21 passengers considered fortunate to have escaped what could have been a more serious accident.
