Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has expressed confidence in securing at least 90% of the votes in the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Ashanti Regional chairmanship election.

Speaking to Citi News during the election on Saturday August 15, COKA said he was optimistic that delegates would overwhelmingly support his bid to lead the party in the region.

“This is an important day for our party. I am very grateful to the delegates here, members of the party, for their commitment to democracy and the growth of this party,” he said.

COKA said he had presented his vision, mission and plans to delegates and was confident they would endorse his candidacy.

“I believe that today, they are going to vote massively for me. I am not expecting anything less than 90% of total votes today. Nothing has changed, nothing is going to change. I am going to be the next Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party,” he added.

The Ashanti Regional chairmanship contest is one of the closely watched races in the NPP's regional executive elections.

COKA is facing competition from Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, a former Bantama Member of Parliament and former Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Agency.
