A farmer in Kumasi plants maize. He waters it for 2 weeks. No fruit. In a fit of anger, he digs it up.

His neighbour waters his own for 3 months. He’s eating roasted maize.

It is the same with goals. Many quit because of impatience.

The Youth: “I posted 3 times, no views. This isn’t working.” So they quit too soon.

Governance: Projects are abandoned. Every new government “wants their own projects.” So there’s no continuity.

Business: Import and sell fast. There’s no brand building. No long--term vision.

Personal Life: Impatience is a leading cause of conflict in marriage, career, and ministry. We want microwave results for oven processes.

THE COST OF IMPATIENCE
For the individual: Burn out. Debt. No stability. Jumping from one thing to another.

For the family: They don’t leave a mark. Parents chase quick fixes

For the nation: Policies start and stop. We don’t finish what we start.

Spiritual cost: Patience is power. “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” – Isaiah 40:31

HOW TO PRACTICE PATIENCE

1. Do the work and trust the process: Show up daily, then let time do its part.
2. Measure progress, not just results: Small wins matter. Celebrate 1% growth every day.
3. Guard your heart: Stop comparing your chapter 2 to someone else’s chapter 20.
4. Think long-term: Ask: How will my life look 10 or 15 years from now?
5. Rest: Rest is a catalyst for renewal. You can’t grow if you’re always tired.
