The Ghana Police Service has arrested Sibamay Zakaria, the man captured in a viral video allegedly assaulting a suspect who was in handcuffs.
According to a statement issued by the Police on Thursday, Zakaria is currently in custody assisting with investigations and will be put before the court.
The Police Professional Standards Bureau is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the conduct captured in the video.
The Service said all persons found culpable would be subjected to the appropriate disciplinary processes in accordance with the law.
The Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring accountability and maintaining professional standards among its personnel.
