At least five people have reportedly died and several others sustained injuries in a multiple-vehicle crash at the Ofankor Barrier in Accra.
The crash, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), involved a tipper truck, a minibus and a tricycle, popularly known as an “aboboyaa”.
The accident has resulted in significant traffic congestion in the area, with heavy vehicular movement reported during the morning rush hour.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the Police Service have been deployed to the scene to rescue injured victims, manage the situation and maintain law and order.
Further details on the cause of the accident and the identities of the victims are expected as authorities continue their operations at the scene.
