Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI Scores President Mahama 100% for Performance in Central Region

Omanhene of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, says he and his Nananom score President John Dramani Mahama 100% for his brilliant performance over the past one and a half years in office.

According to the Gomoa Ajumako Omanhene, President John Dramani Mahama’s NDC-led government is resetting every sector of the economy and therefore deserves appreciation.

Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI said this when he joined the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Eduamoah Okyere Panyin; the Deputy Minister of Energy, Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah; Central Regional Members of Parliament; and District Chief Executives at Gomoa Ajumako for the launch of the Big Push Electrification Project last Tuesday.

Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI assured the Presidency that he and Nananom in the Region will support full implementation of every project that would improve the standard of living of the people.

“We wholeheartedly welcome this Big Push Electrification Project that will provide efficient electricity supply to communities in the Central Region.

I however caution the contractors and workers who will be working at the site against petty thieving of equipment, which could delay early completion. They should beef up security, and we Nananom will also monitor progress of work with eagle eyes,” Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI stressed.

The Gomoa Ajumako Omanhene appreciated the work being done in Gomoa aimed at boosting the economic lives of the people, describing it as a sign that cannot be ignored by any meaningful Ghanaian.

“The much-talked-about Gomoa Highway, which was at a deplorable state, is under construction and is a big relief to drivers and passengers. I mean the almighty Gomoa Ankamu–Dawurampong to Gomoa Afransi stretch. This road had been a nightmare to drivers and passengers for decades due to its deplorable state at that time.

These and other major concerns such as markets, schools, and health facilities are being reshaped in various communities in the three districts in Gomoa.”

The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Eduamoah Okyere Panyin, disclosed that the initiative is particularly significant for the region because it will give access to reliable electricity, which is essential for accelerating development.

“When completed, it will improve livelihoods, support local businesses, and expand opportunities for our communities. This electrification project will also contribute to better access to education, healthcare, technology, and other essential services, particularly in underserved communities.

The launch marks an important step toward achieving more inclusive and sustainable development across the region.

We remain committed to working closely with the Ministry of Energy, our MPs, MMDCEs, and other stakeholders to ensure that the benefits of this transformative project reach communities across the Central Region,” Hon. Okyere Panyin noted.

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah, who doubles as a Deputy Minister and represented the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, at the sod-cutting of the Turnkey Electrification Project under the Rural Electricity Acceleration and Urban Intensification Initiative (REIP), noted that the GH¢598 million investment under H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s Big Push Programme will extend electricity to 211 communities across 22 districts, with completion expected within six months.

“This programme will run alongside the Ministry’s SHEP, the Cost Sharing Electrification Programme, and the National Streetlighting Programme.

I am grateful to the Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, for cutting sod for the construction of ECG’s 20MVA 33/11kV Primary Substation at Apam to enhance reliable and accessible power supply in the Gomoa and Ekumfi areas.
