The Board Chairman of Amakom Saint Paul’s Co-operative Credit Union in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Emmanuel Boakye Fapem, has called on financial intermediaries to prioritize the welfare of their staff members to achieve better results.
He said creating a good working environment for workers is a key driver of growth and productivity in the financial sector.
According to him, when staff feel valued and supported, they are more committed to the goals of the organization.
Mr. Fapem made the remarks during a staff engagement session at the union’s headquarters in Kentinkrono on Friday.
He used the opportunity to highlight the progress made by the credit union over the past year.
He revealed that the union recorded over 300 percent growth in assets from 2021 to 2025.
Assets of the company, he said, moved from 14 million cedis to 58 million cedis within the period.
The Board Chairman attributed the remarkable growth to the dedication of the staff and the strict adherence to operational standards.
He noted that honesty, discipline, and teamwork have been central to the union’s financial success over the years.
According to Mr. Fapem, Saint Paul’s Credit Union has built its reputation on trust and prudent management, which has positioned it as one of the growing cooperative financial institutions in the region.
He commended the management, board of directors, staff and all stakeholders for their role in sustaining the gains made by the union.
He urged them to maintain the same level of commitment to ensure continued growth.
For his part, the General Manager of the union, Mr. John Mensah, announced that the union will hold its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Amakom Saint Paul's Catholic Church, Kumasi.
He said the meeting will provide an opportunity to review performance and take key decisions for the future.
Mr. Mensah called on all members of Saint Paul’s Co-operative Credit Union to attend the AGM and contribute to discussions aimed at strengthening the union.
