The Bono East Regional Police Administration has closed the Kwame-Danso Police Station in the Sene West District following an attack on police and judicial service personnel by some irate youth of the town.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCoP) Shaibu Abubakari Sadique-Osei, Bono East Regional Police Commander, said the closure was necessitated by the incident, which occurred when the police arraigned a suspect before a court at Kwame-Danso on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Techiman, DCoP Sadique-Osei described the incident as unfortunate, but said the police had since restored calm in the area.

He stressed that modern policing was a collective responsibility and appealed to residents to support efforts to control crime rather than attack police personnel mandated to protect lives and property and maintain law and order.

DCoP Sadique-Osei reiterated the police service's commitment and readiness to protect lives and property, while urging residents to remain law-abiding.

He said the Regional Police Commander was working closely with the Police Headquarters in Accra towards the reopening of the station and advised the people to remain calm.
