Ogyeamansan Educational Trust Fund Board inaugurates four sub-committees

The Board of Trustees of the Ogyeamansan Educational Trust Fund has inaugurated four sub-committees to strengthen its operations and enhance the implementation of programmes aimed at improving access to quality education within the Sunyani Traditional Area.

The newly constituted committees are the Fundraising and Finance, Administration and Governance, Scholarship and Projects, and Advocacy and Publicity sub-committees.

The Ogyeamansan Educational Trust Fund was established by the Omanhene of Sunyani, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, to mobilise resources and support educational development in the traditional area. The Fund's Board of Trustees is chaired by Chartered Accountant, Mr. Kofi Okofo Dartey.

The Fund Raising and Finance Sub-Committee, chaired by Mr. Okofo Dartey, comprises Canada-based Ghanaian businessman Mr. Augustine Boahen, educationist Ms. Joyce Osei Bonsu, and Rev. Odame Kentow.

The Administration and Governance Sub-Committee is chaired by Nana Addae Kuntuma IV, Koasehene and Nifahene of the Sunyani Traditional Area. Other members are Prof. Opoku Boahen, Rev. Kwabena Obeng Asare, a lecturer at Sunyani Technical University and minister of The Apostolic Church-Ghana; Ms. Mavis Adu Baffowaa, a development professional, and Lawyer Agyemang Badu.

The Scholarship and Projects Sub-Committee is co-chaired by lecturer Mrs. Elizabeth Sackey and academic Dr. Mrs. Vida Korang. Members include a retired educationist, Hon. Yaw Brenya; researcher and lecturer, Mrs. Victoria Nana Ama Figyina Adu; an educationist, Mrs. Ophelia Antwi Boasiako; and Associate Professor of Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of Education, Winneba, Prof. Richardson Addai Mununkum.

The Advocacy and Publicity Sub-Committee is chaired by Dr. Mrs. Vida Korang and comprises Alhaji Tanko, Mr. Atta Akoto Senior, who is media executive, community development advocate, marketing professional and an entrepreneur. Also part of this sub-committee are broadcast journalists – Ms. Rhoda Kumih-Boateng, and Mr. Frank Oduro Kyei.

Speaking on behalf of the Omanhene during the inauguration ceremony, Nana Addae Kuntuma IV urged members of the various sub-committees to discharge their responsibilities with commitment, diligence and integrity.

He said the success of the Trust Fund would depend largely on the dedication and collaborative efforts of the committees, whose work would complement that of the Board of Trustees.

Nana Addae Kuntuma IV expressed confidence in the expertise and experience of the committee members and urged them to work assiduously towards achieving the vision of the Fund.

The Ogyeamansan Educational Trust Fund seeks to promote quality education through scholarships, educational infrastructure, resource mobilisation, advocacy and strategic partnerships to support the educational development of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
