NIA opens first 24-hour Prestige Centre in Accra to improve accessibility, efficiency 

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the opening of its first 24-hour Prestige Centre in Accra to provide faster and more convenient access to Ghana Card registration and related services.

The new facility, located at Labone, will begin operations on Saturday, August 1, as part of the Authority's efforts to improve service delivery and enhance customer experience.

It will operate around the clock, seven days a week, including weekends, allowing members of the public to access NIA services at any time.

According to the Authority, the Prestige Centre is expected to complement existing registration centres by providing an alternative for individuals seeking greater flexibility and quicker service.

"The first Prestige Centre will begin operations on Saturday, 1st August 2026, at Labone, Accra," the authority said in a statement issued on Thursday, July 30.

The NIA explained that the Prestige Centre will operate as a fee-based service, with all services attracting the approved charges.

It said the initiative is designed to offer an additional option for applicants who require premium, time-sensitive identity services.

The Authority also disclosed that the Labone facility is the first of several Prestige Centres planned across the country.

"The Authority remains committed to making identity services more accessible, efficient and secure while delivering a customer-centred experience for all eligible applicants," it noted.

The NIA said the introduction of the Prestige Centre forms part of its broader strategy to improve accessibility, efficiency and convenience in the delivery of identity management services across Ghana.
